Veterans and their families in the Riverina district of NSW will benefit from Australian Government funding, helping The Rock and District Men’s Shed Incorporated to purchase tools and equipment to facilitate local activities.

Member for Farrer, Sussan Ley, said that funding under the Veteran and Community Grants programme worth $9,941 would help to enrich the lives of local veterans and their families by supporting important services.

“This Veteran and Community Grants funding will support our local community make this project a reality and I congratulate The Rock and District Men’s Shed on its commitment to improving the lives of our local people, particularly those who have served and sacrificed so much for our nation, in practical and tangible ways,” Ms Ley said.

Ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community are all eligible to apply for funding through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Veteran and Community Grants program.

“The dedication and hard work of organisations ensures veterans and their families receive services, support and opportunities that allow them to continue active roles in their local communities,” Ms Ley said.
