The Coalition Government is delivering local access to Centrelink and Medicare services over the next few weeks, with a Mobile Service Centre visiting a number of sites through the Southern Riverina and Murray region.

Introduced by the Howard Government a decade ago, the mobile buses have helped more than 140,000 people and travelled more than 800,000 kilometres since they first hit the road.

Member for Farrer Sussan Ley said as the Golden Wattle & Desert Rose will be travelling to some drought-affected areas, a Farm Household Case Officer and departmental social worker will be on board to provide specialist support.”

“These staff will be available to support farmers and their families who are experiencing financial hardship, including providing help with Farm Household Allowance claims.”

“If you, or someone you know, need this face-to-face support, I really encourage you to take advantage of this excellent service.”

“You don’t need an appointment, and it’s a free – so if any member of our community has a question or needs assistance, make sure you come down and see the team”, Ms Ley said

Two Mobile Service Centres will be visiting the following communities on these dates. Full details are available through the Human Services website or phone 132 316.
