Local federal MP Sussan Ley has announced $150,000 in funding to be made available for community groups across her electorate, helping them undertake small-scale upgrades and to purchase new equipment
According to Ms Ley, expressions of interest open today (26 Oct) for the latest round of the Stronger Communities Program, giving local organisations a chance to nominate for grants of up to $20,000.
“This latest funding will support up to 20 projects across Farrer, from a program which really helps strengthen social connections, builds community participation and delivers a brighter and more vibrant future for our local towns and cities.
“Previous local funding has already helped numerous organisations with the purchase of things like computer equipment, cricket training nets, air-conditioning and kitchen upgrades to community facilities, outdoor exercise equipment as well as shade shelters.”
“I strongly encourage interested organisations to contact my office regarding projects important to them and their community.”
Grants from $2,500 to $20,000 are available to cover up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs, or up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs for local governing bodies.
In total, the Australian Government is providing $22.7 million under Round 7 to deliver investment in regional areas, support jobs to drive our economic recovery, and ensure our regions remain great places to live and visit.
