Councils and incorporated not-for-profit organisations can now apply for funding of between $20,000 and $10 million for capital infrastructure projects under Round Two of the Federal Government’s National Stronger Regions Fund.

Farrer MP, Sussan Ley, today encouraged any eligible organisation to apply, with the Fund designed to strengthen local communities and deliver economic growth.

Following feedback from Round One of the programme, some changes have been made.

• Round Two applicants will have more time to develop and submit applications
• $25 million will be quarantined for projects seeking funding of $1 million or less
• Applicants can receive external Federal assistance in creating their submission
• Organisations will be allowed to submit two applications

Ms Ley says “the changes in Round 2 create better opportunity for councils and organisations to obtain this vital assistance. It helps those seeking smaller funding amounts to realise important local outcomes; it also means they can target two key projects which may not receive funding by other means”.
