Farrer MP Sussan Ley has announced two Veteran and Community Grants benefitting local Albury veterans and their families.

Awarded to the Albury RSL Sub Branch is a grant of $64,000 to upgrade outdated kitchen facilities at ANZAC House.

“While cooking and food preparation areas have fallen below modern requirements, ANZAC House continues to grow as a pivotal base for over a dozen ex-service and legacy related groups, so this funding is very much needed right now.”

Also successful in the latest funding round is the Legacy Club of Albury which will receive close to $10,000 for new chairs, suitable for the elderly and enhancing the various activities provided by the Club.”

“By providing funding to local organisations for special needs like this, our Government can help improve the lives of veterans, their families and local communities.”

“The dedication and hard work of organisations such as the Albury RSL and Legacy ensure veterans and their families continue to receive the services and support they both need and deserve,” Ms Ley concluded.

Ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community are eligible to apply for funding through the DVA Veteran and Community Grants program.
