New Opposition Leader Peter Dutton announced his shadow cabinet on Sunday noting there are ten women in senior spokesperson positions, out of 24 members in total.
“What you’re seeing in this line-up is some fresh faces, with an incredible depth of talent — not just on the front bench, but the backbench as well,” Mr Dutton said.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition and new Shadow Minister for Women, Sussan Ley, said she was delighted with the strong lineup of the Shadow Ministry.
“We will be a strong voice for women, and all of our female parliamentarians with their breadth of life experience, will continue to excel. We are listening!
“I was also honoured to be named Shadow Minister for Industry, Skills and Training. I will be watching closely to ensure Labor maintains our record growth in jobs, our support for training and apprenticeships, as well as small business and equipping young people for the careers of the future.”
