Farrer MP Sussan Ley is encouraging local Councils and not for profit organisations to apply for assistance grants through Round Two of the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
Ms Ley said the $481.6 million Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supported the Coalition Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.
“We have already benefitted from the last round of the BBRF (and the former Stronger Regions Fund) with millions of dollars being delivered to projects across my electorate.”
“These Funds support local businesses and job creation, while also helping meet the needs of towns and local communities across the country.”
Acting Minister for Regional Development Darren Chester said “infrastructure investment, planning and capability building are significant to improving outcomes in regional Australia.
“Applicants should demonstrate how their project can drive economic development, make their region a more attractive place to live, and foster partnerships across their community.”
Round 2 of the Building Better Regions Fund can assist Infrastructure Projects ($20,000 – $10 million) and Community Investments ($5,000+) – applications open until 19 December 2017.
