“It is an honour to be among the 12 participants invited to sing at Country Hope’s third ‘On Key 4 Kids’ event coming up in Albury on 12 October.
On the way there, I have two main challenges – one; to actually find some ‘talent’ during rehearsals and two; individually raise up to $10,000 for this wonderful cause.
Country Hope provides family-centred support programs to children diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses through a large part of Farrer, including the cities of Albury and Griffith, stretching out west to Hay, Deniliquin and Moama.
From family care programs to financial support, hospital care and holidays, Country Hope has been dedicated to supporting the needs of local children and their families since their first children’s holiday camp in the early 2000’s.
On Key 4 Kids is quickly becoming a signature annual event for the organisation, raising over $130,000 in 2023, with an eye to meeting and beating that total this year.
Each of 2024’s ‘singers’ have been tasked with staging their own unique fundraising activity to help us get to the target, with mine – a British high tea in Albury – planned for 21 September.
The twenty years of generosity shown to Country Hope has made a real difference in the lives of hundreds of children and families who need it most, bringing hope and light into their lives.
Any support, big or small, helps to make such a positive impact. If you can afford to help out this year, please link here – donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.”
