On this special national day, we celebrate being Australian – together – because we are all part of the story of Australia.
It allows some time to pause, even for just a moment, to reflect on this wonderful country’s past, present…and its future.
Our history goes back many thousands of years for the traditional owners of this ancient land, and their special connection to the rivers and plains across Farrer.
On Australia Day we also have the opportunity to honour the local citizens who contribute so much to our wonderful region, along with those choosing to become new Aussies, formally accepting the values we all cherish – democracy, individual freedom and the rule of law.
On this Australia Day, let’s celebrate being part of a proud, ancient, multicultural nation which values the contribution of each and every citizen.
